How much is a Therapy session ?
Peter has specialised, for more than 20 years, in a fairly unique form of Therapeutic Hypnosis Counselling treatment therapy that is particularly effective for a wide range of problems and difficulties that usually have emotional or psychological causes, such as, for example: anxiety, panic attacks, habits, addictions, phobias, eating disorders, bulimia, anorexia, guilt, trauma, abuse, compulsions, anger, rage, sexual problems, fears, intrusive thoughts and HOCD - for which Peter, having started his practice in 2003, has extensive experience.
With the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown, in March 2020, Peter moved to remote working using Zoom in March 2020, and the success of this approach has led to all client appointments and
therapy now being conducted solely online, using Zoom.
Whilst it is theoretically possible for therapy to require no more than 1 session this is very unusual and prospective clients should note that in practice, as a budgetary guideline, therapy usually
takes approximately 6 or 7 therapy sessions (sometimes more, sometimes less - depending on each individual client), at weekly intervals. Each therapy session typically lasts 75 minutes as a minimum.
However very often Peter will extend a session, at no extra charge, to 90 minutes, or sometimes even longer, if it should become apparent during a therapy session that the client will benefit from
such an extension (please note that the first session is a special 'starter' session for your therapy which usually takes only 50 to 60 minutes).
The therapy sessions are started with a special ‘starter’ therapy session and then usually completed with a special 'suggestion hypnotherapy' session, where post-hypnotic suggestions are given for,
for example, improved calmness, confidence, self-assurance and happiness for you, as you leave your therapy behind you, and you move confidently forward with your life.
A free initial consultation and assessment is offered (usually taking between 45 and 75 minutes, varying with client's needs), during which you can outline the nature of the difficulties for which you would like some help with and Peter can explain to you a little more about the therapy and how it works and what it involves.
Following on from your free initial consultation, daytime therapy sessions, during the week, are £90/session (£100/session for evening sessions during a week), payable in advance of the therapy session.
Please note that there is a £5 discount for prompt payment on the day that the appointment is made (or on the following day), so daytime therapy sessions are effectively only £85/daytime session when paid for promptly (£95/session for evening sessions).
Sometimes help can be provided at the weekends if necessary (usually for clients based in the US), either daytime, or evening - please contact Peter to discuss further if this is a requirement.
These therapy costs means that a single session of treatment is comparable with other routine everyday expenditure, such as buying: a full tank of petrol; or the weekly grocery food bill; or a decent pair of shoes; or a nice hair do, or maybe a day out to watch a football match or concert.
There is no charge for the cancellation/rescheduling of an appointment if greater than 24 hours notice can be given – for notice periods of less than 24 hours there is an additional charge of
£20.
Payment is usually made by direct bank transfer for clients with a UK bank account. International clients, who don’t have a UK bank account, usually pay either by international bank transfer or by
PayPal.
It is possible to spread therapy payments over time, by charging therapy fees to a PayPal account that is linked to a credit card.
Please also note that whilst Peter will sometimes work at weekends, Peter mainly works during the week, with daytime appointments starting from 9:00am to 5:30pm, and evening appointments starting from 6:00pm to 8:30pm.
Note 1.
Fees also compare very favourably when considered against the cost of 20 minutes of dental work (£50 - £200 for a filling) or veterinary fees (£1500 for pet surgery). Cost of treatment at, say, the Priory mental health hospital, will typically cost £125 for a single session of outpatient therapy. Proposed outpatient treatment plans at the Priory can also require attendance for many weeks of 3 x 1 hour appointments a week (trauma therapy, counselling & group therapy) at a total cost of £329 / week; which many people find to be both unaffordable and incompatible with work commitments.
Note 2. Overseas Clients
All therapy provided by The Surrey Hypnotherapy Clinic is provided in
accordance with applicable UK laws, standards and regulations, rather than any local laws and regulations that may be applicable in the particular country, state, territory or province outside of the
UK, in which a remote online client might reside.
Other countries, states, territories and provinces outside of the United Kingdom (e.g. USA, Canada, Australia and the EU) may have different laws, standards and regulations to those that are
applicable within the UK.
It is implicit that, by agreeing to remote, online, therapy, those clients who may reside outside of the UK are agreeing to being treated in accordance with applicable UK laws, standards and
regulations.
In the extremely unlikely event of any dispute or disagreement arising between a client and The Surrey Hypnotherapy Clinic, and escalating to a level where legal resolution is sought, any such legal
resolution shall be under the auspices of the UK legal system, UK courts, and applicable UK laws, standards, and regulations.
